Going Home Doesn't Mean Going Back

“… one can never go back, that one should not ever try to go back – that the essence of life is going forward. Life is really a One Way Street.”

― Agatha Christie, At Bertram's Hotel

Why was this quote at the top of mind today? Because I’m writing to you from my parents’ basement. Lol.

Whether or not you’ll be spending time this holiday season in your parents’ basement, if you will be getting together with family, be ready for old patterns to emerge.

There are personal narratives that might show up and be bigger than you realized. It is easy to forget, over time, that there is a good reason you aren’t with these people all day every day.

You’re building your best life, being your best you. Look directly at those narratives. See them for what they are - part of your past. And decide if they will be part of your future. The decision is yours and yours alone.

Stay true to that forward vision!

As my friend and mentor Jake Ballentine has said:
We have the ability to choose the meaning we attach to whatever happens. We have the ability to act in alignment with our purpose and values.

2 podcasts came out this week that highlight my stories. I’m excited about both and I’m excited to share them with you.

Enjoy this interview on YouTube or on either of the podcasts: Every Sing and The Business Savvy Singer. Greta interviewed me about my journey as a singer, including candid conversations around menopause and writing Singing Through Change.

Nick, Sarah, and I have a groundbreaking and sincere conversation about performance anxiety
